How to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2?
The passing score for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 is 90 out of 180 points. In addition, a minimum score of 19 points is required in each of the language knowledge (letters, vocabulary, and grammar), reading comprehension, and listening comprehension sections. The pass rate is said to range from 35% to 55% each year, depending on the time of year the test is held. In order to pass the exam, it is essential to have a solid foundation.
The Japanese language skills required to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 are not limited to the ability to understand all expressions that appear in daily conversation, but also require the ability to understand Japanese used in a wider range of situations to some extent. Considering the fact that foreigners who wish to work for Japanese companies are generally required to have N2, you can understand the high level of skills required. However, the study required to pass the N2 exam is the same as that required to pass the N3 exam: familiarize yourself with conversational expressions by native Japanese speakers, improve your vocabulary, and develop a solid understanding of grammar. By building up from a solid foundation, you will steadily improve your score.
You can also expect to improve your communication skills by learning actual conversations by native Japanese speakers through video clips.
Another strength of the program is that it is available at all levels. We also have materials available for those who wish to go back to the basics, such as kanji and hiragana, or to study at the N3, N4, or N5 levels as a review.
